CityBus drivers are some of the kindest and most considerate people I have ever met in the Greater Lafayette area. I always looked forward to boarding a bus and engaging i in a conversation with the driver, making sure not to distract the driver when in busier sections of the route. They are the safest drivers in the community who are challenged hourly by those of us who are not.

Lafayette may not have great weather or great scenery or very interesting retail, but Lafayette does have a lot of very kind people. Thank you for remembering a member of our beloved community and for reminding us how special Greater Lafayette is.

Kudos to CityBus drivers for bringing the quiet dignity of Mr. Tousant to an appropriately acknowledged close. We sorely in need of stories of humaneness around us, thanks Dave you brightened a gloomy day.

This is the storytelling this community needs but our local news organizations are too short-staffed (thanks Gannett) or not invested in Lafayette/Tippecanoe County. Outstanding writing Dave.

So sad. He had an ex wife that lived here in town. He was an awesome man and always made comments of how big my kids were since he's known them since they were babies

Such a touching story. There is a man in Oakland area who frequently makes his way to the corner of Main and South 24th Streets to catch the CityBus. He uses a walker and makes many stops to rest before he can reach the bus stop. I've often wonder what his story is. Thank you for sharing, not only Charles Tousant's life, but the acts of love and kindness shown by the people whose lives he crossed.
